Our dream is to create a reciprocal kitesurf community for South Africa's lesser fortunates.
The past Covid years have been turbulent for everyone. For us it was time for something new!
We decided to re-open the kiteschool in Blouberg, Cape Town.
Besides teaching kitesurfing, our aim is, to professionally educate unfortunate disadvantaged youngsters.
We will teach them a skillset that can be used in South Africa's kitesurfing industry.

We offer private kitesurf lessons to the beginner and the advanced kitesurfer in Blouberg (Cape Town).

JAN VANDEVELDE
Belgian, 56
After Jan's carreer as engineer, he decided it was time for a change of life.
​
Ever since, you'll find him at the beach when the wind is blowing, either teaching or taking his own kite out for a jump session.
​
Besides kitesurfing, Jan himself is still a student of arts studying Ceramics in Belgium. You can follow his projects at www.instagram.com/jan.vandevelde2

Jan is an exceptional teacher, with years of experience, his calm personality and empathy, he has guided hundreds of students become great kitesurfers.
THOMAS DE VOS
Dutch, 35
Thomas feels absolute freedom when he is part of the ocean.
When there is no wind, you'll find him in the water, either openwaterswimming (check out www.fox-openwaterswimming.com), diving, hiking or eating.
Thomas studied psychology. Even-though he is not active in the field of psychology, this might explain where his patience comes from when he teaches.
With lots of passion, energy and patience he will coach you through your own kitesurfing process.

Jan and Thomas met in Langebaan, sharing the same passion for kitesurfing and teaching.
Pricing is in ZAR (South African Rands) Payment in Euros is also possible.

THEORY

Theory varies between beginner & advanced lesson.
PRACTICE

You will be the one kitesurfing, our aim is to make you a solo, independent kitesurfer, capable of going out on your own.
WETSUIT:
COVID HYGIENE

We expect everyone to bring their own wetsuit for hygiene reasons

In case you don't have your own wetsuit, wetsuit rental is possible and a fee will be applied (R200)
Terms & Conditions
At Kitesurfing Blouberg we pride ourselves on offering the best possible service to our valued customers. We are a small but fair company, always aiming for customer satisfaction. However, as a business we also have to protect ourselves and invite our students to read our T&Cs below.

We require a 50% deposit for our security, which once received will confirm and secure your booking. The remaining balance is payable upon arrival.

For your added security, payments are conducted through a third party payment gateway. Our third party company uses the latest security methods for online payments, ensuring strict privacy during the transaction.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of your booked lesson time and no-shows will not be granted a refund. All cancellations prior to 48 hours will incur a R200 administration fee per person.

Due to the weather dependency of kitesurfing, we request students arrive on time for their lessons. Time lost due to the lateness of students is not our responsibility and will not be accounted for.

If the wind is not adequate on the day of your lesson, we will reschedule it to the next available slot. Should you only be visiting for the dates booked, then we will automatically refund your deposit.

We will always operate with the safety of our students and others on the beach as our first priority. If the safety of those is compromised at any time, our instructors reserve the right to immediately terminate the lesson.

Whilst Kitesurfing Blouberg does carry full third party liability cover, students must complete our waiver and medical form, supplied through WhatsApp before commencing lessons.
